An Idea Is Born

This is a short video I did for work. The artistic vision was inspired by the graphic novels of a budding musician, RTK. He published a series of underground satirical comic journalism entitled Raul the Psychotic Clerk.
The story, however, came out of a conversation between my pregnant wife and me. I was trying to compare what it's like to try and get a writing project done, so I decided to use a metaphor to which she could relate quite easily. This is what I came up with.
It pales in comparison to the glory of RTK's RPC series, but it was the best I could do in a short amount of time.
Oh, and the music is an awesome Chicago guitar player/violin plucker/whistler named Andrew Bird.

  1. Thank you for paying tribute to my satirical comics in your blog. I am deeply honored. I would like to also draw attention to SCK's epic novel "Pablo the Perverted Lemonade Stand Boy." That piece is perhaps one of the greatest literary works of our time.

This short film, however, is visually far superior to both "Raul" and "Pablo", as well as "Leonardo the Student Council President", "Matteo the Hyper Spaz", "Enrique the Boy Who Bangs His Head on Insects and Spiders after Eating Ice Cream" and even "Rico the Naked Alien". Let's face it; all of these titles would be like the Tracey Ullman era of the Simpson's in comparison to this new groundbreaking work by AMK. There is Oscar Buzz going around.

Oh, and Lydia wants me to say that she thinks your artwork is excellent and even better than Japanese animation.

    Thank you,
    RTK
